Hubli Peace March

Mr. Virendar Mohan Trehan, President (FANS), led the peace march comprising of about 3000 students from different schools and colleges. The Peace March started from Nehru Maidan and culminated at Indira Glass House.
Mr. Trehan along with other members planted "AMITY TREES" on the site, which would serve as a constant reminder to the need for maintaining peace and harmony.
Peace March in Hubli was organized during the period when the issue relating to flag hoisting at Idgah Maidan was at its peak and was generating a lot of tension amongst the communities.
About 3000 children under the aegis of FANS marched through the entire city of Hubli singing national songs and carrying placards promoting peace, harmony, understanding and tolerance. This had a visible impact on the populace of Hubli and did contribute towards the ultimate peaceful solution of the problem.
Lunch packets were distributed to all the participants.
