Dr Abid Hussain died in London some weeks ago. Many in India still do not believe he is no more. He touched the hearts of leaders, administrators, academics,civil society leaders and many more irrespective of their position or seniority. He was a guide, friend and philosopher. Fondly addressed as Abid Bhai he inspired many, young and old. He was an orator par excellence. His simplicity and high moral standards was inspiring. He was a true secularist , an optimist and a visionary. Above all he was a good human being. For him, National Integration was a sentiment which brought people together irrespective of Caste, Creed or Religion. He was a guiding force behind the activities of FANS and was a National Amity Award Board Member. In his memory, Foundation for Amity and National Solidarity is arranging a series of Lectures of which the first Lecture was organised in New Delhi at Vigyan Bhawan on 23rd August 2012 . Dr Farooq Abdullah, Hon.ble Union Minister kindly consented to deliver the first Lecture, which was attended by Dr Abid Hussain’s Family members and many other dignataries and invitees. Mr M M Pallam Raju, Hon.ble Minister of State for Defence delivered the Vote of Thanks.
